Write about your face and or your body. The things you do, and don’t like. Maybe key in on one specific thing, like write completely about your nose! This could be written in any style, a slam poem, regular poem, short story. It’s all up to you. It’s like a self portrait with words

They have pink skin
Dry pink skin
I can feel them crying for moisture
They are being abused
By the soap in the school bathroom
The lack of humidity in the air
My hands
Small hands
Artistic hands
With finger tips rubbed raw from oil crayons
Made unsightly by paint caked under the chewed, uneven nails
They are compulsive
Hands
Acting before I do
Becoming violent before I am
They are the hands that pull me out of bed in the morning
That drive me to work, that carry me home at night
My feet are always dragging behind my hands
Passionate hands
They are the hands that love you
and the hands that hate you
They are not calm hands
They are not hands
That are meant to fit inside of anyone else’s
